McConnell: First things first, I want their mics cut. (He points at Mark and Rhino) I don’t want either of them saying a word. This isn’t the time or the place for you two to put a spin on things.

McConnell: Now then..
(McConnell reaches down and picks up the chair, unfolding it and sitting down)
McConnell: It’s been awhile since I’ve done this, so let me just take a seat here. I mean, I’d hate to waste all of your precious time by making you think I’ve made some sort of small commitment and then completely and utterly disappoint because I can’t stand here for 15 minutes to run my mouth. But I digress.. I’m sure you’re all wondering to yourself right now just why I chose to come back in the way that I have.. Running roughshod over curtain jerker and midcarder alike. And really, it’s simple. You see, last year at New Year’s Evil, I was able to put this place behind me. I finally settled my score with both Lone Jobber and Shawn Michaels, the two biggest rivals I have in this company. I retired Big Daddy Ace. I even won a world title along the way. What else could I possibly care about? So a few months ago, my phone rings.. And it’s Mr. Mouthpiece-for-the-Committee himself, W.T. Riker. And he’s asking me if I had any interest in making an appearance at MY show, Glory. And I told him no. Because quite frankly, I wanted nothing to do with this place. And then August rolled around and I watched as Lone Jobber and Triple H slither their way towards the main event at the cost of the entire roster, especially the former world champion, CM Punk. Summertime Blowout comes and goes and before I know it, the brightest new star this company has gets knocked off the mountain for the sake of ego and Lone Jobber once again asserts himself as a Glory main eventer. And that got under my skin. It irritated me to know that this guy who could really make a name for himself became another victim of the system. The very same system that I helped created. That I am possibly the most responsible for. The system that saw me take a leave of absence every 6 months for god knows how long, waltz right back into this place, get handed a title shot on a silver platter and walk out with a World Championship. I have stepped on more people than I care to remember and everytime I did it, it drove a nail into the coffin of the EWA. And my BIGGEST offense was stamping out a young bright kid by the new of Josh Stewart, a guy who could have CARRIED this company while we looked for new talent to keep this place going. Am I proud of that? No. Will I apologize for it? No. Because the fact is, you get stepped on a lot in this business and it happened to me quite a few times before I became the main stay and marquee name of Glory. The difference is I was able to pick myself back up and keep doing what I’m very, very good at doing. But now I watch as Triple H does the exact same thing.. Shawn Michaels has off and disappeared to whatever forest he can find to put an arrow through some deers eyes. And Jobber? Jobber’s up to his usual ego driven shenanigans. And where are the new stars in this company? Oh, that’s right.. I just laid them all out! Because as much damage as I have done to this place, I was going to light a fire under someones ass and I was going to MAKE a brand new star! You thought Punk was on the rise before? One match at Glory with me would have solidified him as a permanent fixture in the main event! Until, that is.. He PUNKED OUT. Yeah, that’s a pun, live with it. So instead of getting to go to Glory and build someone up, I got burned. Again. I got burned by this company. And you know something? I’m a little tired of getting burned. I’m tired of trying to do something for this place and having it blow up in my face. So take a moment and register this, boys and girls, because the EWA is about to experience one hell of a backdraft. What you saw tonight is what is going to keep happening until someone in this god forsaken company finds their balls, steps up and takes me head on! So now the balls in your court, EWA. And my question to you is.. Who’s gonna stop me?
