HBK:You are talking about me needing the spotlight, arent you the guy who couldn’t work as a part of a team, so instead you got some sort of contract written up to say that you have to only work by yourself, play by yourself, sit by yourself and read stories to yourself instead of being a part of a team at new years evil… You are that guy, needing all the attention for yourself, right? Or do I have you confused with someone else?
McConnell: You know what.. Yeah, that’s me, Shawn. I have to pull the attention to myself or else no one is gonna realise what kind of shit gets pulled right under their noses by guys like you and guys like Jobber. I pulled the strings and I did what I had to do at Wargames.
HBK:But that’s what you always do Will, you always make yourself the center of attention and I have noticed that you have made yourself the center of attention in this whole thing with Ace… You are making it about your own issues… But that just you… William McConnell… The Center Attraction of the EWA…
McConnell: And what would you rather have me be, Shawn? Sitting on my ass at home? Working in the offices? You were the guy who opened your mouth and made your challenge. You wanted William McConnell to stick around. Well here I am. And now you deal with the consequences. You lit the fuse and now it’s blown up in your face. I know you hate it, though. Because it’s not about you anymore. Because it wasn’t Team Michaels or Team DX. It was Team Rampage. And you know who else hated that? Triple H hated it. He may be sorry he cost YOU the match, Shawn. McConnell: Oh don’t give me that, Shawn. You couldn’t care less whether or not I was getting paid. Where’s your venom? Where’s the guy who wanted to kick my teeth down my throat, Shawn? You’ve got soft. Not old, not weak, soft. You’re not fit to call yourself a Total Impact Champion if you ain’t gonna put a guy down when you got the chance. Well here’s your chance, Shawn. And you won’t take it. You ain’t got the balls. Because here’s what’s changed between you and me. You know why I could never beat you in this ring, Shawn? It’s because I was trying to out wrestle. I was running on one thing. Passion. And there is not a person in this industry today with more passion for what he does than the Heartbreak Kid. You go out there and you run on emotion and you are the best against anyone trying to do the same. But I learned something. I figured something out. As long as I wrestled in your shadow, as long as I tried to out perform you, I was gonna lose. But I got smart. I started to out think you. I got out of your shadow and started casting my own. And look where it went, Shawn. The last four times you and I have shared a ring in a match, you FELL SHORT against William McConnell. You got OUTPERFORMED. You. Got. Beat. And that eats at you. Because you ARE the better wrestler. But I’m the smarter one. I know how to get under your skin, I know how to throw you off balance.. Any time I want, I pull your strings and there’s nothing you can do about it but dance like the puppet you are.

You second guess yourself with you’re in the ring with me. And THAT is what I want. Because I’m tired of the ego in this company. I’m tired of the jackassery. I’m back because I am going to dissect this company piece by piece just like I have dissected the image of what an “EWA Superstar” should look like. You’re right. No nicknames. No flashiness. No more HBK lite. One thing gets the message across these days. Pain. Violence. And NO ONE in the EWA is as dangerous as I am. That’s a fact. Because I won’t just beat you physically. I’ll beat you mentally. I proved that Wargames. I played the field, Shawn. I played you, I played Rampage, I played the Pac and the Trilogy. You’re a hunter, Shawn. You know what happens when you got 10 guys after one deer. They get in each others way. I put a target on MY back. I separated myself just to get everyone’s focus on me. And when 11 guys are trying to fight one? They take each other out. I pulled the strings. Was Triple H a part of the plan? No, but I used it to my advantage. You and 10 other guys have to admit to themselves that despite having allies, they lost to a team of ONE. Because I am now using each and everyone of you just like you all used me.
